Sorta Streak Trainer

A Hoot! I bought this thing on eBay for $13 + $12.00 shipping. The plane (no rudder) and the McCoy engine together. It was probably built in the 1950's. I spent about a week refurbishing the engine and the plane. The old finish was sanded. A coat of nitrate dope was applied. And a coat of Red Devil Polyurethane enamel was used for the finish. New landing gear. New bellcrank. New fuel tank. New Plywood rudder. New socket head bolts and O.S. needle valve assembly for the engine. The engine fired right up after a shot of fuel in the exhaust. It has four flights on it now. The engine crackles like a real McCoy. And the plane flies like a trainer. I think it looks like a Flite Streak Trainer. But it has a hollow built-up balsa covered wing. So it must be something else. Anyway I think this was a great eBay bargain.
